THINGS YOU WILL NEED:

Downloaded Episodes/Clips
- Must be .mp4
Video Converters ( i use Freemake Video Converter )
- to convert .mkvs and also crop the specific clips/scenes you want
- the shorter the clip, the faster it can be loaded (since i use photoshop, and crappy rig, there's a limit that i can edit in my PS)
Photoshop or other GIF makers/softwares
- so far i`ve already used 3 programs to make GIFs, the main one is Photoshop (i`m using CS6), you can also use After Effects if its longer, and there's also this program that i forgot that can be used for LOOOOOONG gifs (i forgot the name XD) ,, i think the largest i made is 20mb lol
- note: the larger the video the longer it will load

before we start, make sure you're video that you`re going to use is prepared and already in .mp4 .. if not, do it Very Happy

.. for this tutorial i`ll use Aoki Hagane ep 8 meat fight Takao vs Hyuuga Very Happy

.. btw i recommend to downscale its resolution as you convert it, i use 444x248 for my GIFs so it will load fast and its not that small, or you can use its original size then downscale it after editing Smile

1.) ok so let's start, we will use Motion mode in photoshop to be able to use it for GIF making (once again i use CS6), it is below the minimize, maximize, close buttons

btw " right click > open image in new tab " the pictures to see them in full size

2.) ok so let's insert the mp4 into photoshop, go to file > import > video frames to layers

3.) open the video then this window will appear

you can learn the settings by yourself just leave the "Make Frame Animation" box checked, the "Limit to Every" will remove the frames every < number of frames you entered > .. its useful, i`ll explain it later Very Happy

4.) so in my settings, you can see that the i can see all the layers very well at my left side, and the frames below,, what we`re going to do here is to "delete duplicate frames" and adjust the frame rate,,

deleting duplicate frames will reduce the size of the GIF and adjusting the frame rate will make 1 frame act like 2 or 3...
duplicated frames is like .. 2 identical frames will appear for 1 second, but deleting and adjusting those frames will make it 1 frame for 1 second, hence saving space Smile

you can browse through the frames by clicking them, and below them you can see their frame rate/speed..

5.) now we`ll clean the frames and adjust the frame rate ..... just delete duplicate frames, there's a delete button there, ,, to adjust frame rate click the arrow beside the number (0.04) ..
and this is what happened

some videos have duplicate frames every 2 frame, or sometimes every 3 frames.. the "Limit to Every" will automatically delete those duplicate frames "IF AND ONLY IF" you are sure that the part you want to GIF-ied consist of duplicate every 2/3 frames

in my pic you can also see that i changed the frame rate to 0.08 from 0.04 ... this will make 1 frame act like 2 frames with 0.04,,
easy math ... (0.08)x(1) = (0.04)x(2) Smile

,, also you can erase the layer of the frames that you don't use anymore

6.) to save your gif.. press CTRL + ALT + SHIFT + S or File > Save for Web ... but save it first before doing that xD ,, sometimes large gif makes your PS crash while loading Save for Web .. and its death when you didn't saved your PSD first lol
